This December, we are in a “Celebratory” State of Mind. We celebrate surviving the pandemic and our frontline heroes. We celebrate our community of 100+ New York makers. We celebrate all of you who read our stories and support our hard-working and talented local makers with your purchases.
This year was different; it forced an “Awakening”; it required us to connect with our “Nurturing” selves; it made us appreciate the “Sunny” -side of life; it made us “Resilient”; it reminded us to “Play”; it forced us to find the discipline to keep moving “Onward”; it inspired us to be “Intrepid”; and it revealed to us what we “Treasure” most.
On our magazine this month, we will be featuring a list of our favorite socially-distant ways to celebrate the holidays, as well as the maker story of Susan Rivers of Greentree Fiber Arts. Rivers’ handmade textiles line includes an Adirondack 46 high peaks-inspired topographic quilt and site-specific topographic pillows that are perfect souvenirs from trips made throughout the Empire State, and a reminder of the travels ahead. Finally, we will share our New York Makers’ 2020 highlight reel -- from having our Joan Hornig-made Classic Herkimer Diamond Necklace included in The Oprah Magazine’s Sustainable Gifts Guide to launching the New York Makers Resource Center℠ in the first weeks of the pandemic, and of course, the rise and demand of our very own Silda’s Jam!
We invite you to celebrate the season virtually with us -- or to come visit us safely in person at our pop up in Catskill this December (more details to follow.) Our online Marketplace is always open, and we have a beautiful collection of holiday gifts that can be delivered right to your door.
We thank you for giving us so much to appreciate. We Celebrate You, and We Are Ready for 2021!
