As the end of 2019 approaches, our celebrations inspire us to bring joy and hope, fun and togetherness, beauty and wisdom to the divisiveness and inequities that darken our time. Our actions radiate with the brilliant glow that comes from sharing and caring; they reflect the best parts of ourselves. That is why, though any wondrous words capture different aspects of the season, this December we are in a “Luminous” State of Mind.

Please take a few moments to breathe deeply and find your peace spot in the bustle, sip some warm cider flavored with a cinnamon stick, and engage in “enlightened” shopping by scrolling through our online Holiday Shop. Amanda has made sure there is something for everyone on your list!
We are also aglow with the stories we are bringing you this month -- from an amazing portrait artist to a mastercraft tinsmith, keeping alive a skill that is rare these days. Plus a heartfelt shout out to one of our favorite contributors, Kathleen Wilcox, for her insight-filled book about a less recognized and on-the-rise wine-making area of our state -- the Hudson Valley.

We hope that this edition reflects our love for this dazzling place we call home and our gratitude to you as customer, reader, and fellow New York State enthusiast. Thank you for bringing your luminosity.
