#NYSOM Happy Hour: We believe in celebrating, and have a tradition of ending each work week with a New York State-inspired cocktail. Here's our guide to mixing and sipping The Perfect Manhattan.
“The Perfect Manhattan”
What’s in a name? Dubbed one of the best cocktails at the 2013 Manhattan Cocktail Classic, Atsby Vermouth has used their signature spirit to completely redefine the classic Manhattan Cocktail. Josh Sontag of New York’s West Village gastropub, Whitehall, shared his recipe for the “Perfect Manhattan.” Perfected, if you will, with Tuthilltown Spirits' Hudson Baby Bourbon and Atsby Armadillo Cake Vermouth. Atsby Vermouth, made in New York City, loosely stands for the “Assembly Theaters on Broadway” in New York City — “the place where nightlife as we know it was born.” According to Atsby, their liquor “pays homage to this very particular brand of nightlife — to the glamour and the dregs, to the sparkling and the dark. To last call at sunrise. To starting late and ending later. To New York City.” We couldn’t agree more with their state of mind. Of course the romantic thinkers in us can’t help but hear the name of a legendary host when we speak of Atsby. We’re certain that if Jay Gatsby threw a bash today, Perfect Manhattans would flow freely among guests. We’re giving you the green light to take fate in your own hands and mix this fabulous Friday cocktail.
