Press play on this mellow mix, pour yourself a glass of Saratoga Spring Water (“spike” it with Strawberry Rhubarb Shrub by The Hudson Standard), and sink back into your Adirondack chair (or “be in the moment” by wearing this necklace) — Enjoy some R&R, our June State of Mind!
With that chill-in-the-air finally departing our Northeast atmosphere, it’s time to dream about (and finalize plans for) returning to -- or discovering for the first time -- the lakes, beaches, mountains (but now less bundled up!) and valleys of New York. June is the gateway between spring and the blazing summer months with the Solstice on the 21st; thirty days to unwind before the height of the season.

And, just as a reminder (everyone is suffering from the Memorial Day weekend fog — we get it!), Father’s Day is Sunday, June 18. Browse our freshly curated Father’s Day Collection on the New York Makers Marketplace. Want to know my personal favorite gift from the collection? Bet you’ll never guess! Okay, I’ll tell you — the Crossword Letterpress Coasters by Smock, a New York maker based in Syracuse. Here's why — a friend of mine told me recently of a tradition she has with her dad. They live 1,000 miles away from one another and don’t get to see each other that often. Their father-daughter tradition: via phone (and FaceTime!), they challenge one another with Wall Street Journal Crossword Puzzles. The coasters remind me of the special bonds we create with our dads, near or far.
We look forward to relaxing -- and sharing our “R&R” New York State stories -- with all of you this June!
