July 2019: New York “Revolutionary” State of Mind. New York has always been revolutionary, starting with playing crucial roles in winning historic wars, including the, yes, Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Civil War. But New York has also been revolutionary in industry (e.g., birthplace of world-famous Kodak film and its founder George Eastman), culture (from Broadway to SPAC), religion (Mormonism, for one), and politics (like being the birthplace of the Women’s Rights Movement)...This place and its people have paved the way for centuries; rebellious hearts, minds, and voices affecting change.

This July, we celebrate the revolutionary ways New York has, and continues to, trail blaze us into the future.
We will cover stories on Brooklyn-based, revolutionary King Children, showing the way commercializing 3-D technology by offering custom printed eyewear ordered via “app” platform (Soon you will be able to buy a pair of King Children sunglasses exclusively designed for New York Makers on our Marketplace!), listicles of inventions hailing from New York State like air conditioning, and history-changing pioneers like Shirley Chisholm, “champion of working-class people” and first African-American woman elected to Congress. We will also be sharing the process and people behind innovative New York maker VUFF, a travel guide to exploring the comeback Catskills hamlet town of Mountaindale, (location of our newest New York Makers Catskills Outpost. Opening Friday, July 5!) and more.
Follow along and be inspired. The next revolution could start with you!
