New York Makers celebrates makers, and many of us are makers who can sew. Pleas have gone out from medical centers and other health providers in need of supplies. Face Masks are in such demand that homemade ones are being used.
We're all in this together. And we think the best thing to do is keep busy and remain positive. If you have a sewing machine and want to do something to fight back against the spread of COVID-19, please make however many face masks you can and send them to a location requesting them. A good resource both for a pattern and for places (listed alphabetically by state) to donate masks is here.
This is one way we can be a community, even when we are distanced from each other. If you are able to contribute any masks that you make, please send us a picture of your efforts to share.
Please stay safe, and thank you so much.
