This Holiday season we have never been more grateful for the ability to rally around our closest communities, small businesses, gathering places and neighbors and catch the occasional returning outdoor holiday market and winter walk, even though still with a watchful eye on COVID variants. To that end we hope you will decide to explore one (or more!) of the fun, seasonal activities highlighted in New York Makers Magazine’s “How to Celbrate the Holidays Safely All Over the Empire State” and let us know your favorites or ones we should add to the list.
We so appreciate our amazing Makers and our customers, who make the choice to shop small and support small businesses with big dreams. As we all turn inwards and hibernate for the winter, our site offers craft projects and puzzles, or handmade glassware for those intimate gatherings filled with hygge and good cheer. We stock tastes of New York like maple syrup and farm fresh jams for those who can’t make it home for the holidays.
As this year continues to throw everyone for a loop with shipping delays, product shortages, and the questions about what kind of businesses we want to support, by working with our Makers, we are always reminded that ‘mission’ and ‘commerce’ do not have to be mutually exclusive terms. Being able to shop for products where the methods of sustainability and creation are not just a means to an end, but an equally vital part of the story is so exciting to us. Helping to tell the stories of these companies in an authentic way is a huge part of our purpose, and we can’t wait to connect with more of you in the year to come!
