About Owlkill Studio
Adelia Sugarman founded Owlikill Studio in 2013. Her company is named after the Owlkill River, which winds through the woods behind her childhood home in rural Washington County.
Owlkill Studio is a one-woman operation run out of Adelia's small home studio in Albany, NY. She creates handmade jewelry and simple, well designed leather goods.
Her line of jewelry is crafted using the lost wax casting process. She creates an original design in wax and sends it to a local casting company where a mold is made. It returns cast in solid brass and she polishes it by hand to a mirror finish.
She uses carefully sourced materials in all her pieces, including high quality 14k gold-filled chain and finishings, vegetable tanned leather, and solid brass hardware. Every item is carefully designed and assembled one by one with equal parts aesthetics and functionality in mind.
