Indigo Mud Cloth & Deerskin Tote
The fabric used to make this stunning tote is an African Indigo Mud Cloth that comes from West Africa in the town of Mali. The vintage indigo stripe is really beautiful and has varying shades of blue. There is a great texture to the cotton fabric and is made of long strips of fabric that is then hand sewn and dyed in indigo. The bottom of the bag is made from authentic deerskin. It is so soft and has a beautiful tanned color. The bag is fully lined with a navy cotton canvas cloth. There is an interior pocket with a zipper closure made from a cotton blue chambray fabric.
Handmade in Cortlandt Manor, NY by The Highlands Foundry.
The shoulder straps are made from a heavy natural vegetable tanned leather. The leather continues to patina and darken to get even better with age.
