About Hudson Valley Seed Company

New York maker of Ashworth Sweet Corn, Upstate Oxheart Tomato, Sea Shells Cosmos, Spotted Trout Lettuce. Founders: Ken Greene and Doug Muller.
Hudson Valley Seed Company is your source for heirloom and open-pollinated garden seeds and beautiful garden-themed contemporary art. They are a values-driven seed company that practices and celebrates responsible seed production and stewardship. They have a certified organic farm in upstate New York where they produce much of what they sell.
At Hudson Valley Seed Company, they are both farmers and storytellers. They are committed to growing organically, sourcing locally and sustainably, and preserving crop diversity by selecting unique, rare, and hard-to-find varieties. Every seed is open pollinated, many are heirloom and organic, and they are never GMO. They were one of the first companies to sign the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI), and will remain committed to their values of sustainability to the last.
Hudson Valley Seed Company believes that a seed is more than meets the eye: it is a time capsule telling tales of the plants, crops, and people that came before us, and they work with a range of artists as diverse as our seeds to pass those stories down to present and future gardeners.
The New York Makers Marketplace offers a curated selection of unique, mindfully-designed — often handmade or hand-crafted — gifts created by nearly 100 creative makers located across New York state, including the Hudson Valley, Catskills and Adirondacks.
