New York Makers will be curating our very first Makers Market to be held at Beekman 1802 and the town of Sharon Springs' Garden Party Festival on Memorial Day Weekend. The dates and times are Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, from 10 am - 5 pm right off Main Street between South and Washington Streets. We'd love for you to join us, partake in festival fun, eat, drink, shop made-in-New-York goods, meet several of our makers, and enjoy workshops led by them.
The workshop, "Mincemeat - Can I Invite It to My Picnic?", led by Farmer Street Pantry, will introduce mincemeat to those who want to know "What is mincemeat?", as well as re-acquaint mincemeat lovers with how to use vegan mincemeat in preparations suitable for a summer-time picnic. Using ingredients provided by Farmer Street Pantry, attendees will assemble and taste a selection of picnic-worthy treats made with mincemeat and bring home a jar of FSP All-Fruit Mincemeat to try in their own kitchen. Estimated time of workshop is 45 minutes. Limited space is available.
Date: Saturday, May 26, 2 pm.
Farmer Street Pantry hails from Syracuse where mincemeat had been made commercially from 1885 to 1981. Maker Lynne and her team want to revitalize and reintroduce this apple-based product to first-timers as well as fans.
