New York Makers will be curating our very first Makers Market to be held at Beekman 1802 and the town of Sharon Springs' Garden Party Festival on Memorial Day Weekend. The dates and times are Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, from 10 am - 5 pm right off Main Street between South and Washington Streets. We'd love for you to join us, partake in festival fun, eat, drink, shop made-in-New-York goods, meet several of our makers, and enjoy workshops led by them.
In this FREE demo of "Mastering the Traditional Shave" on the Main Stage of the Garden Party Festival, New York maker Adam Cresko McCarthy from Roosevelt Grooming Company will be providing an overview of traditional wet shaving practices and techniques. He will be discussing everything from the science behind various shaving products to how to strop a razor and get a perfect lather from shaving soap. Adam will also spend some time talking about the pros and cons of traditional shaving verses modern shaving practices, and the environmental impact associated with each. The demo is 60 minutes in length.
Date: Saturday, May 26, 10 am - 11 am.
About Roosevelt Grooming Company:
Owner Adam Cresko McCarthy's grooming products are made in small batches with whole, natural ingredients. Adam takes the time to formulate products that are of the highest quality and takes his inspiration from the world around him, which is
— very evident in the products he sells.
Adam was born on Long Island, New York, and lived in Plattsburgh before settling in New York's Capital Region. He received a degree from The College of Saint Rose in Albany. Every one of his grooming-product scents were inspired by a different New York landmark (from Jamaica Bay to Marcy Summit!). As he expands his business, he plans on incorporating more New York ingredients (whenever possible).
