About Stephanie Yoshioka
Yoshi-oka in Brooklyn, NY
Yoshi-oka is a visual and tactile world of design filled with colors and textures meant to inspire joy. Stephanie Yoshioka, owner and founder, is a Brooklyn-based fiber artist and painter, creating embroidery and weaving with watercolor elements and embellishment such as beading and sequins. Her love of art and color started at a young age and blossomed with formal training in drawing and watercolor. However, growing up led her to temporarily abandon her artistic aspirations to study economics and international studies, then pursue a career in analytics and strategy consulting. She rediscovered her love of art during a beginner embroidery class, which ignited an interest in fiber art. After a ten-year career in the financial services industry, she is now pursing art and art instruction full time. She has been creating with fiber for over two years now, using texture as an additional dimension to her colorful creations.
